You’re frowning into your long island iced tea. The entire team can see it and Luke is itching to make a comment. He also knows that despite your sunny disposition you might kick his shin under the table. 

“You could always just go bring him back here,” Matt says, sipping his beer as he watches you burn holes into Spencer’s back. 

You’re not jealous, no matter what any of them might imply. 

“He’s a big boy. If he doesn’t want her flirting with him, he can just leave.” 

JJ laughs into her drink, Penelope rolls her eyes as she chews her cherry and Emily shakes her head at you. 

Spencer likely will remove himself from the girl if he doesn’t want to be flirted with- but since he’s been there for the last twenty minutes you suspect he isn’t as into you as they’ve all suggested. 

It was silly of you to let your heart be captured by a man fresh out of prison you suppose. Your frown worsens at your thoughts, Spencer isn’t the ‘lead a girl on,’ type. Still you feel the hot and heavy sting of jealousy and something bitter settle in your chest. 

“He’s still a bit awkward about this,” You roll your eyes this time. They all talk of Spencer like he’s a thirty three year old virgin. He isn’t. You know he isn’t because Penelope had informed you that he’d been in serious relationships before. 

Not that you’d wanted to know. 

When Spencer comes back, you’re itching for a game of cards and the rest of your team is itching for some sort of reaction from either of you. 

It’s been clear over the ten months you’ve been working at the BAU, that you and Spencer have begun to orbit each other. You’re like Pluto and Charon. You bring each other breakfast, make each other’s coffee, you were even almost halfway in his lap on the jet the other day ‘doing crosswords.’ You really were doing crosswords. 

They suspect you’re both just too oblivious (you) and frightened (Spencer) to do anything about the feelings everyone can see you have. 

“Sorry I took so long,” though he says the words loud enough for the entire group to hear, his eyes are on you. 

“Did you at least get her number?” You kick Luke in the shin then, earning a smirk from the man across from you. Maybe if you put salt in his protein powder he’ll relent. 

“What?” Spencer asks, sipping his rum and coke. He brushes a curl of hair from his forehead, tucking it behind his ear. 

You reach into your bag and pull out your sparkly deck of cards and shuffle them. “Oh are we doing readings?” Penelope asks, you don’t trust the peachiness of her tone. 

“The girl from the bar.” Matt clarifies for Spencer, whose eyebrows shoot up to his hairline. 

“Why would I get her number?” JJ looks at you with a, ‘do you see what we’re saying,’ look but you only shake your head. 

You don’t care if Spencer did get her number or if he’d been flirting back with her. You’re not dating. You don’t care. At least, that’s what you keep telling yourself. 

“She was flirting with you man.” Luke says and Spencer shrugs, leaning into you as Penelope takes the cards from you. They’re only playing cards, but she’s been trying to get you to read them as well as she reads tarot. 

“Are you okay?” Spencer whispers in favour of a reply to Luke, eyebrows knitted together when you shrug him out of your space. 

“Fine.” Emily chuckles which only worsens Spencer’s frown. 

“Hey, what about this song?” JJ says, the entire group dispersing. Penelope is the last to go, leaving the ace of hearts face up on the table. 

“What’s wrong?” Spencer asks, hand reaching for your chin. You shake your head from his hand. Spencer feels burned. 

“Nothing’s wrong. I’m fine. I’m just enjoying a night out with my friends.” You make it a point to stress the word friends and Spencer almost flinches. 

“I don’t believe you.” he says the words plainly. “Are you upset with me?” You turn to face him then, face stony, an expression on your face Spencer has never seen. Other than that day you were on the phone with your brother. 

“Why would I be upset with you? You’re just the clueless thirty three year old everyone thinks can’t tell when a pretty girl at the bar is flirting with him.” Your words are hushed and low, your eyes dark in the poorly lit booth. 

Spencer sighs, his shoulders reaching his ears before falling. “You’re jealous?” 

You grumble, no point in hiding what is so very clear. “You flirt with me for ten months, and then you spend almost thirty minutes letting a stranger put their hands all over you and come back here like you didn’t know she was flirting? If you just wanted the attention you could’ve said so from the beginning, Spencer Reid.” 

There’s no ‘Doctor,’ before his name that lets him know you’re being playful or funny. No, your words and your expression are the iciest thing he thinks he’s ever witnessed. You sound hurt more than anything and that makes Spencer’s heart crack right down the middle. 

His hand reaches for your chin, turning you to face him. “I didn’t just want attention, you know that,”

You roll your eyes, “Oh do I?” Spencer likes this attitude on you, he can’t even pretend to lie to himself. He just doesn’t like the way you doubt him. 

“I like you. You know I like you. Yes, the woman at the bar was flirting with me, but the conversation was being redirected. She was flirting with me till I told her I wasn’t interested and that I had someone waiting for me.” 

You don’t believe him, “Took you twenty eight minutes to do that?” 

Spencer smiles then, pressing his forehead into yours. “You’re worked up, sweet girl.” The nickname settles you a little. “It took me a little to catch on. I’ll admit it takes some getting used to from total strangers. But I didn’t enjoy her flirting with me if that’s what you’re really asking.”

Spencer’s thumb presses into the slight divot in your chin, your eyes stuck on his as he refuses to break eye contact. “I only want you to flirt with me.” 

Your breath hitches, Spencer smiles. “You let her touch you.” He laughs at how petulant you sound, he knows your grip on your anger is slipping. 

“Am I supposed to push her hands off me?” You nod and Spencer lets his nose run along your jaw. “You’re too much.” 

Spencer doesn’t leave your side the rest of the night.

What if the episodes, characters, etc are Tarot Cards?

I got to thinking because Pomni is a Jester. Not only is this "the fool" of course, but its also the reader whos going on the journey. In my deck at least.

So then it got me thinking.. and yes!!! Some of them match other cards. So i decided before just spewing ideas to actually research ( again strictly based off my deck, maybe it doesnt fit for others ).

The Journey in tarot is about self.

☆ Sun - The Sun.

☆ Moon - The Moon.

☆ Caine - Believes he IS The Emperor, but is actually The Emperor Reversed. ( If "Able" is a character then he is the OPPOSITE. He believes HE is The Emperor Reversed, but is The Emperor )

☆ Bubble - The Empress ( this one is reaching )

☆ Ragatha - The High Priestess

☆ Jax - Believes he is The Fool but is The Fool Reversed.

☆ Pomni - IS The Fool, but depending on how things go she can grow to become Strength or regress and become The World Reversed.

☆ Zooble - The Hierophant Reversed

☆ Kinger - King Of Cups.

☆ Queenie - Queen Of Cups

☆ GummiGoo - The Star Reversed

☆ Loolilalu - Queen Of Pentacles

Again this theory is for fun, I'm not like "oh it MUST be right". On top of that i don't think it would be anything super serious even if i was right, or close enough. At best it would just be a for fun little details.

Also if someone's made this theory before i am deeply sorry, i don't look at the tadc tag often and i don't look at theories often.

I am curious though, for fellow tarot deck users, does it match up with your deck? If not what is different? And also if you think someone should be different, tell me why because I'm curious /genuine /nf

I think Martha and Baron could be something else, but unless a canon couple happens ( other than Kinger and Queenie ( though they could both be the lovers and Martha and Baron are The Lovers Reversed ) or another couple shows up i think it could be them seperately?

I also think Gummigoo before he finds out he is an NPC is The Star.

The Fool ( in my deck ) is the one taking the Journey, hence why i think Pomni can become a different card depending on what happens in the end. Because it'll be the end of her journey.

Another thing to note is each episode is giving her a life lesson, its just a harsh one, which some Tarot card readings are like that.

I know some people who don't know Tarot or just will want to say "oh but Jax is the Devil card" or "Kaufmo is the death card!!". No. As much as that would be fun to say- again i have to stress that for my specific deck, no they wouldn't fit. However it may from someone ELSES deck.

Because if it was up to me i'd make Kinger Emperor and Queenie Empress, and Pomni the Star.

But on top of that, that leaves other Major Arcana cards left including reversed versions or up right versions i didn't include. And possibly more Minor Arcana.

ok so I'm gonna list them and explain when they figure it out and how they react to it then (i am eepy so sorry if this seems disjointed but hey we don't choose when the spark comes do we AND I might redo these later if I think of more well thought out answers later)

Asra

They definitely had their suspicions after he was able to break those chains and bind The Devil but it didn't truly click with him until Danny got his familiar. then he was just kind of like... ohhh. okay that makes sense. he doesnt see it as a negative thing, he's very open minded- especially when it comes to magic and its mysterious ways. basically just... gestures at this fic. it's something he knows quite a bit before Danny does but he lets him figure it out himself, and theyre patient with him because they understand it must be hard to learn you're associated with the guy that quite literally tried to fuck everything up. they do actually see it as a positive thing. like, a challenge in his perspective which he always enjoys, if that makes any sense. in conclusion it doesn't put him off in the slightest even though Danny thinks it really should

Nadia

its hard to say because it's not something she's necessarily looking for. she's a smart lady! she just doesn't have the familiarity with Tarot that say, Asra does, so she doesn't necessarily have the knowledge to put it together besides the card games she would play with her sisters as a kid- and even then that was a completely different deck. that being said her intuition game is insane so she has a *feeling*. you know. she knows there's more to him than there appears to be but I don't think it'd click until he came to her with that information. and- something to note is Danny's associations with this card- well they aren't great. he's only an apprentice after all and he doesn't quite get the nuances completely yet. he has very black and white thinking at times. so he himself takes this as a very negative thing- especially considering everything The Devil has done to everyone. so he's kind of a nervous wreck telling her this but he trusts her and feels like she should know. anyway how Nadia takes it is. kind of like "oh I just knew Lucio was too incompetent to be associated with him" like it makes a lot of sense to her. Danny's smart! so was The Devil. Lucio is well... Lucio. Nadia would also have quite a bit of wisdom about it I think. she really kind of grounds him in that way when he's torn up over it I guess. she's just kind of like "well. destiny is a nice thought but you do have free will so dont worry about this meaning youre secretly evil. youre just Danny and you always will be" i think she's said things in a similar vain before. ALSO ALSO her choice for his masquerade outfit ended up making more sense in hindsight. she does have a feel for these things sometimes without realizing it... like giving Lucio a dog mask. I feel like I did a whole lot of yapping and said a whole lot of nothing with this one. point is she takes it with grace and its not something she's worried about or shocked by

I'm struggling here because it's not a belief system he seems to be super invested in. sure he asks for a tarot reading in the prologue but he's always been more of a science guy and he quite literally doesn't know magic when he's staring it in the cauldron- so I don't know exactly how he would process this information? (as for how he learns- he's absolutely not figuring this out himself so Danny comes to him with this) and for the reason of confusion I feel like he'd take it the hardest. Danny's worried and Danny's a skilled magician, right? he really knows what hes talking about. so this has GOT to be bad, or he wouldn't be so worked up, right? and i mean, The Devil is the bad guy in so many fables. what's going to happen to him? is there any way they can stop it? should they just give up trying and stop worrying and give into their "true nature" (woohoo hanged man trait) whatever that means? he doesnt know. he doesnt know how this magic system works. he just tells Danny not to worry about it, just ignore it, but he does plenty of worrying for the both of them. walks on eggshells for a bit. keeps making accidental goat puns and putting his foot in his mouth. goes to Asra for advice. Asra tells him to chill the fuck out. you know how it is

Muriel

he's not... surprised when Danny comes to him. he's known for forever, because of his prophetic visions. he just gave up telling him because he always forgot anyway, and he didn't tell Asra because he didn't want them to take it the wrong way. but it's always something that made him... wary of Danny. he's had dreams of him absorbing The Devil's heart and taking over the world (vision of Lucios reversed end) and he's had visions of he and Asra being stranded in another dimension after making a deal with him (Asras reversed end) ...but he's also had visions of him sailing the world with Julian. or hell, even finding safety with Muriel himself. he's really wary because he doesn't quite know what to expect from him and it makes him nervous- not necessarily because he's The Devil, just, in general, but that association definitely doesn't put him at ease considering Lucio's obsession with him. Muriel hates goats because of it. but, when Danny comes to him he's just kind of like "I know" which catches him off guard and he's just kind of like "didn't see the point in telling you" which Danny's like okay fair, however-

Portia

oh she thinks it's so cool when Danny tells her. she already thought it was cool he came back from the dead (i believe the words she used were "zombie magician") and she treats it like one of her romance novels with the tortured and mysterious love interest. she's just like oh. well now you're even more charming. like a vampire. youre more complex now. WHICH IS NOT HOW DANNY THOUGHT SHED REACT. but she does think it's super cool (her only context for what The Devil is is, The Goat Guy so she sees it as like. you were supposed to be his henchman and then you weren't. if that makes sense) he insists that this isn't a good thing and she insists that he could literally murder someone and she would still love him (platonically or romantically!)

Lucio

JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS JEALOUS he really did identify with that card and he's devastated to learn it's not actually his and he got a "lame" card instead. but it does piss him off a lot because he hates being, what he perceives to be anything but "one of a kind" or "first place" at anything. why does he wanna be a card that sounds like such an insult when he could be a cool goat instead? it's no fair! he would call Arcana managers if he could but instead he settles for- depending on the route either chokes out a "congratulations" which surprises Danny or, if it's Lucio's route, he figures oh well if you can't be em date em. little does he realize just how special his own card is. because he's. well he's stupid. anyway he'd be lying if he said it didn't make him love Danny more

With all my love for Camelia Elias (and partially Enrique Enriquez), the almost EXCLUSIVE VISUAL reading school is just so boring.

To neglect the powerful and CORE allegoric identity of the Triumph suit in favor of the tasteless details is such a waste of an intrument. Watering down Temperance (pun intended) to just her jugs is boring at best, dismissive at worst.

I genuinely don't understand what's even the point of using a tarot deck at all (if not for the "magical & mysterious" aesthetic). If you only put attention to the details of the deck, the poses, the objetcs, then let yourself free with a sibilla or an illustrated fortune-telling deck.

The whole point of the Triumph suit is the powerful concepts it depicts. A tarot reader I follow said (reviewing an awful deck) very wisely that she could read using only blank cards with the name of every arcana because the drawing itself is just the vehicle for a major message.

And don't get me wrong, I don't think ignoring the picture is part of a great reading, but ignoring the allegory is DEFINITELY part of a terrible one.

Not only you curse yourself into only being capable of read with a single deck, but you're gonna miss a fucking lot of useful information. Dismissing Time/Hermit to a generic old man is almost as worse as Jodorowsky rambling about made-up eggs and made-up numeric relationships. You're trapped in a lack of meaning and to solve it, you make meaning out of nowhere, victoriously blind to the shining presence in front of you.

If the card illustrates DEATH, the core concept must be revolving around DEATH. Not the plants in the ground, not the number of ribs, not the numeric properties of the numer 13 and definitely not about invigorated LIFE at all.

Like dude, seriously. All respect to Camelia but the welcome reading in the introduction of "To read like the Devil" is just... are you being serious? She really did a Jodo there CASUALLY deducting that the woman and her husbad were having a bad time about she forcing him to drink. With Temperance and Fortitude NONTHELESS, the fucking cards of DISCIPLINE AND SELF REGULATION.

How in the sweet and sour fuck can you extract that? Like, if I had to play her game why don't we look to the pair of femenine figures showing their breats and the masculine one with a massive rod? Why don't we look to the hats? The fact that only one of them is sitting?

She casually drops that deduction with nothing to made-up hints. Because oh boy, she's not only not answering just one question:

Call me crazy but I believe that if your answers revolves around A DRINKING PROBLEM at least ONE CUP is a requirement. But no.

I like Camelia's style of reading, the way she's strict and clear with the symbols (when she is). But the visual method is just a fuuuuuuuuuuucking waste of everything. Barely using a deck to drag conclusions from thin air. I can understand it coming from Sesemarot, who reads (I love you Sesamerot) with a fucking SESAME STREET DECK and doesnt have the same deepness of a tarot deck.

BUT IF YOU DO HAVE A TAROT DECK and dare to read ONLY with the visual method, then OH BOY, then you're the lucky one, because you have a whole world to learn in front of you. Do yourself that favor.

list of horror movies i made like a week ago and then forgot about. because i was mad that everyone watches the same ones over and over. so these are some less-talked about movies that I enjoy

full list under cut! some of these movies are really good, and some of them are really bad. all of them are things i watch on a semi-annual basis for the halloween season or just for fun. movies are listed in chronological order (1958 - 1988) with brief descriptions or facts i know. if youve seen something on here, let me know what you thought of it!

this is a CONDENSED version of what i could just think of in the moment and is primarily movies from the 1960s. maybe ill add more when i have the time

The Blob (1958) [sci-fi horror] - theres a blob terrorising some late 50s teenagers. slow beginning but has some really cool practical effects for the blob and the best opening song ever. if you just want to hear the song look up "the blob" by the five blobs. blob doesnt look like a word anymore

13 Ghosts (1960) [haunted house]- a family moves into a haunted house, but inherits special goggles that allow them to see the ghosts. theatregoers themselves would receive coloured cellophane glasses and be instructed to put them on during the ghost scenes, where the film would switch into 2 different colours--actors and the sets overlayed with blue, while the ghosts would be overlayed in red. the different ghost stories are neat and the 13th ghost reveal is very cool. will make you very angry at the pronunciation of "ouija" (as in the board) for the rest of your life if you know how "j" is pronounced in german

The Little Shop of Horrors (1960) [horror/comedy] - NOT the musical (though that is very good), but the movie the musical was based on! slightly different in some aspects. i think all of the available copies of this are really low quality but still a fun watch

The House of Usher (1960) [gothic horror] - The Fall of the House of Usher adaptation starring Vincent Price. shot in 15 days with 1/3rd of the total budget going to Price. very cool sets

The Raven (1963) [gothic horror/comedy] - starring Vincent Price and Boris Karloff, expands upon The Raven poem. a very funny movie + theres wizards :)

The Comedy of Terrors (1963) [horror/comedy] - starring Vincent Price, Peter Lorre, Boris Karloff, and Basil Rathbone. follows two undertakers (Price and Lorre) trying to save money with their failing funeral home and dealing with their landlord. nobody in this movie is a good person

The Haunting (1963) [haunted house]- adaptation of Shirley Jackson's The Haunting of Hill House. this house is alive and loves you soooooo much <3 you cant leave, and you wont want to <3

The Day of the Triffids (1963) [sci-fi horror] - fucked up alien plants. all i have to say about it, really

Dr. Terror's House of Horrors (1965) [horror anthology]- despite the name, this anthology series is based on a train. the 'house of horrors' of the title is actually what Peter Cushing's character calls his deck of Tarot cards. 5 passengers draw a card from the deck and 5 stories are told, each unique in genre

The Ghost and Mr. Chicken (1966) [haunted house/comedy] - starring Don Knotts, who plays a wanna-be-reporter investigating a local fucked up haunted house. the reason i love chicken noodle soup

Mad Monster Party? (1967) [stop-motion musical comedy] - Rankin-Bass' lesser-known stop-motion holiday special. a really cute movie with a fun twist at the end, nothing incredible but very enjoyable

The Dunwich Horror (1970) [supernatural horror] - very very lose adaptation of HP Lovecraft's story by the same name, and largely considered the first successful adaptation of Lovecraft on screen. psychedelic as hell. a good time with friends

Valerie and Her Week of Wonders (1970) [folk horror/Czechoslovak new age] - A Czechoslovak surrealist fantasy horror based on the 1935 novel of the same name. a very beautiful, dream-like film that deals in a lot of symbolism. the film is concerned with the troubles maturing girls face, including scenes of sexual harassment, which some viewers may find uncomfortable to watch

Willard (1971) [no idea] - a social misfit befriends rats, which he uses to kill a guy. yeah. a good time

The House that Dripped Blood (1971) [horror anthology] - what i thought everyone was talking about instead of the mountain goats. 4 stories that take place in the same fucked up house, each originally written and then scripted by Robert Bloch. each story is its own genre, but all are implied to have occurred due to some effect of the house itself. Jon Pertwee from doctor who is there, as are Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing

Ben (1973) - the sequel to Willard (1971), where a boy befriends the rat leader of the pack from Willard

Penda's Fen (1974) [folk horror] - a young boy comes to terms with his sexuality while experiencing divine visions of both Christian and pagan nature. very rich in symbolism with incredible commentary on capitalism and pollution. if you watch any movie on this list, make it this one.

House (1977) [architectural horror/comedy] - a schoolgirl and her six friends travel to her ailing aunt's country home, where the house eats them one by one. an experimental Japanese film shot without a storyboard over a period of 2 months, inspired by Jaws. fucked up house <333

The Company of Wolves (1984) [gothic fantasy/horror] - this is a more popular one but it's very good. very very artsy and dream-like, shows of several different werewolf stories with unique transformation styles and super awesome practical effects. great movie for lovers of werewolves and wet practical effects

Bad Dreams (1988) [supernatural mystery/slasher] - a girl involved in a cult group during the 70s survives the cult's mass suicide and goes into a coma, before waking up in the late 1980s. she has visions of the cult leader as her friends seemingly die from suicide. the twist for this confused me at first and motivations are not at all made clear, but theres lots of blood and Bruce Abbott is there. less ableist than you would expect from an 80s horror movie set in a hospital

Transylvania 6-5000 (1985) [horror/comedy] - kind of like Rocky Horror Picture Show but without the musical aspect. two tabloid reporters travel to Transylvania to discover the truth about supposed Frankenstein's Monster sightings, encountering horror movie staples (a mummy, a vampire, a werewolf) along the way, each with a twist

The pancakes are a light color. They are smooth and slightly fluffy. The taste is very good and they are soft just the way I enjoy them. The syrup is sweet... way too sweet. It leaves a strong aftertaste in my mouth that somehow I can describe as “sticky”. Fake it until you make it is a very motivational quote, but right now, if you’re faking something or coaxing an specific response out of the people around you it probably is better to stop. Sometimes you just need to be good ol’ plain you (no offense intended) and let people enjoy that for what it is. If they don’t want anything with you, that is their problem not yours, but I don’t see the rest of the people avoiding you or judging you. 

I get a feeling you’re a sweet person and charming in a way that you yourself cannot see. My decks suggest that as hard as it is, you really have no reason to overthink it. You need to be practical and step on the ground as many times as necessary for you to reground and be more realistic. You don’t need other people to like you, but you also don’t need to fear them disliking you. My cards suggest you should place yourself in a middle ground and take any interaction that goes natural as a win. You don’t want to act a certain way to try and give people an specific image of you. As cheesy as it is, be yourself and you will gain people that see and accept that, and also vibe with you in a natural manner. Balance is the key, and practice gratitude and recognize yourself for making it through any interaction no matter how awkward it might feel for you. 

Furthermore, you need to get a good feel of the person you are and just embrace it. This naturally translates into the way you behave and treat others and once you recognize your strengths and the things that make you unmistakably you, people will definitely recognize you. You are likable, you just worry too much.

Try of the Week No. 2: Read a 3 Card Tarot Spread

My try for this week is to consult my tarot deck for a general reading about the coming year 2021. I dont like reading tarot cards when the moon light didnt light up the night sky the previous night so I had to wait a little before I could comfortably consult my deck. That’s just a little quirky superstition I have and I dont know if any other people do that, I just feel like the moon has to shine for the deck to reveal something to me (Im a moonchild lol). It’s been raining the past few days here, so I was really muscling my powers to wish for clear skies, and they gave me one!

My tarot deck is from a good friend in the night, it is the smith-waite centennial edition.

Here’s kind of my routine before I start most readings, I light a white sage incense and say a little message to clear the air and wish for a helping, guiding, and kind light to let me see what the cards truly want to say. This step is for me the most important especially if your cards have been idle for a while or for when you’ve used the cards to read for a bit and or used to read other people (if you dont have a personal deck). Then, (you can skip this) I usually lay my cards flat and let my amethyst and selenite clean the card further from energies beyond me, wait for a bit. Then shuffle the deck whilst thinking of your core question, or a general idea/theme of what you’d like the cards to tell you. In this case I was leaning more on how i should go on about 2021, just a very general question. After my third shuffle, I cut the deck as the fourth shuffle. And pick the topmost card as my first draw. I usually skip the next card and draw the one after it but in this case, the card i was going to put on the bottom of the pile showed itself (slipped in my hand lol) i take it as the card really wanted to be seen. HONESTLY, i was surprised because as you can see:

It was the devil that really wanted to be in my reading as my second draw. The thing is, this deck of mine is a little feisty. She (i refer to my deck as she lol) would really tell me straight up all the time, and so she said no you’re gonna listen. And i continued and drew the third.

On general reading three card spreads, i usually use this as a guide:

The beautiful thing about tarot and self reading is that it doesnt have to make sense right away, you’ll get it I swear. I drew (in order): VI of Swords, The Devil, The Empress. I’ll discuss each one before I tell you MY interpretation of what the cards are telling me.

VI of Swords

Transition, Leaving behind, Moving on

Worry not for this card just means an end but a start of something. It’s telling you to move forward and continue in spite of the hardships being presented. Being ruled by thinking, it’s time to progress.

The Devil

Excess, Materialism, Playfulness

Represents obsessions and insecurities, a lack of control, and being ruled by base instincts such as fear, lust, greed. It shows that there’s something amiss and a need for a mature decision to be made.

The Empress

Nature, Motherhood, Fertility

She is the symbol of abundance, of growth, and of femininity. The mother earth where we live and who provides us with life and gifts. A creative high and a celebration of life.

To me, with the guide questions, im aspiring for that change. A step towards the new me included with this attempt at all things. That I have to go forward with my life even if the past year was rough on everyone and in him trying to achieve that, there are earthly pleasures that would hinder me from achieving what Im trying hard for. Which is actually just the card throwing shade at me because the other day I bought new shoes and I didnt need new shoes, I couldve used the money on something better, but I just needed to have those shoes, okay cards i hear you lol And I can overcome this obstacle by dialing back on the material pleasure and invest more on my creativity and in myself that’s bound to this earth, in things that will not only better me but also the world we live in. That i can do this, and that things will be fine for me, I just have to try hard not to give in to temptations.

Thank you to the universe for being kind, for giving me life and light. Life is hard but it is oh so beautiful. I am eternally grateful for this life. To my heavenly mothers, Hecate, Aphrodite, Mother Mary, and Isis, thank you for all the clarity.

Dice, Marvin and Chase?

Sure thing my friend! Sorry this one is a little different than my usual stuff. Playing around with some new ideas. Thanks!

Marvin’shealthy. Marvin’s whole. His music fills up the air with violins andcello, his hair is braided and tied back neat, his eyes glitter andgleam with warm, healthy power. His hands are clean. His suit ispressed. And best of all, Anti’s strings are laced around his throatlike a warm winter scarf.

Statictastes like ash and cherry. Marvin smiles with white teeth.

Chaseis not healthy. Chase is not whole.

“Marvin,”he whispers. “What did he do to you?”

“Don’tbe so glum, amata,” says Marvin, placing his hands on the tablethat separates them. He smiles bright at his brother. “Let’s play agame. Do you want to?”

Chasetries to swallow, but it’s hard when the rope around his throat is sotight. He’s tied to a chair and he can’t get free no matter how muchhe thrashes.

“Weshould play a game,” Marvin repeats, his grin beginning to waver.“He told me to look after you. He told me we should play a game.”

“Anti?”

“Shh,”Marvin hisses. “Don’t call him. He’s busy.”

“Marvin,this is not you, this is him. This is just him! You have to fight,man!”

“Comeon, amata, we play games all the time.”

Theydo. They play Mario Kart and chess and Cards Against Humanity and tagwith Chase’s kids. But they do not play with Anti. They do not playwith dice. They do not play with Marvin’s tarot.

“Six-sideddie,” he announces pleasantly, turning it over in his hand, showingit to Chase the same way he shows off a cup or a ball or a cardbefore a magic trick. He sets it on the table and pulls out his tarotdeck.

“Marv,what are we doing?” asks Chase. “Please stop. Please fight him.”

“TheHigh Priestess,” says Marvin, placing the blue diviner on the tablebefore him.

“That’sSchneep’s card. You always tell his fortune with that. Marvin, Idon’t like this game.”

“Time,”says Marvin, drawing the black hooded hermit.

“Hey!Leave him out of this.” Chase doesn’t want to cry. He just wants togo. He just wants to go free and find his brothers. “Leave them allout of this!”

“Justice,”says Marvin, setting down the red cloak queen.

“Okay,I get it, yeah, these are our cards, okay. What am I, then? HangedMan? That’s messed up, man, tell Anti that’s – ”

ButMarvin doesn’t pull out the Hanged Man.

“Andthe Magician,” he says, placing his card down.

Chasewatches. His neck hurts. He wonders if Marvin’s in pain too.

“Roll,”Marvin orders, placing his hands on the table and nodding at the die.

“Roll?”Chase repeats.

“Yes.Roll. He told me to tell him when you lost.”

Whateverthis game is, Chase doesn’t like it, but looking down at the fourcolored cards on the table before him, he knows the others – hisbrothers, his family – are in danger.

Hesets his mouth. “How do I win?”

“Roll.”

Chaserolls a five on the first go.

“Beautiful,”says Marvin, clicking his nails against the table. “The Priestesslives.”

“DoI have to get a five to save them?”

“Gethigher than a one,” Marvin answers kindly. Somewhere in the back ofhis head, he can feel Anti smiling, and it makes him smile too. Thisis fun! He loves the taste of blood to come.

“Oh,”says Chase, frowning, and he rolls three more times. The chances arefive out of six. He keeps safe Schneep, JJ, Jackie, and Marvin inquick succession, and sits back, relieved.

“Roll,”says Marvin, his eyes dark.

“What?”

“Higherthan a two now. Roll.”

Chase’sheart beats a staccato against his ribs.

“Thisis fucked up!” He shouts, and tries to rise, choking on his leash.He kicks at the legs of his heavy chair and tries to flip the table,with no luck. “This is fucked up and it isn’t you! What happens tothem if I can’t roll high enough, huh? You’re going to sic Anti onthem, Marv? You’re selling us out? You are not his! You are not his!You are not – ”

Marvin’shand snaps out and clenches, and his power wraps around Chase’s hand,electric and painful. His little brother cries out.

“Roll,”says Marvin, and smiles too wide.

Chase’shand picks up the die without his consent. Chase’s hand drops the diewithout his consent.

It’sa three.

“ThePriestess lives,” says Marvin.

Chasepants. Marvin lets his hand go.

“Chase,”murmurs Marvin, and for just a second, just one second, he soundslike himself again. “We don’t have a choice.”

Chaselooks at his eyes. Chase pauses. Chase rolls again.

“Timecontinues,” says Marvin.

“Istill have a two out of three chance for each of them, right?” saysChase.

“Right,amata.”

Chaserolls again.

“Justicetriumphs,” says Marvin.

“Thisone is you.” Chase points at the Magician on the table. “This isyou. Marvin. What happens if I don’t roll above a two?”

“Hetold me that you should play until you lose.”

“Andwhat happens when I lose?”

Marvinwatches him from behind his mask.

“Wouldyou die? Are you still going to sit there while he kills you?”

“Ifyou roll no higher than a two,” says Marvin. “I will not need hishelp to die.”

Hepulls his scian out of its sheath and sets it on the table.

“Theseare my cards,” the Magician continued. “This is my knife. Don’tlook at me with horror, little brother. I cannot loose the cordsabout my throat except in death.”

“Marvin,”Chase whispers.

“Roll.”

“Ican’t and I won’t.”

“Don’tbe stupid, Chase. You always were so stupid. So fucking naive. Youwant me to lift your hand again?”

“Nowyou even sound like him. You are not his. You are your own and youhate being told what to do more than anything else. No one has todie. No, no way. You couldn’t kill them even with Anti holding you.You couldn’t kill us or yourself.”

“Oh,Chase,” Marvin murmurs. “You’re wrong.”

“No.No, I know you. You can fight him. You can fight, Marvin.” Tearsfill his mouth with salt. “Marvin, oh, please come back to me. Whatdid he do to you? What did he do?”

“Whatdo I have to do to make you roll the die?”

“Saysomething you would say. The real you. Show me you’re still yourself.Show me you can still fight him.”

Marvinblinks the slow blink of a cat. He moves forward just a little, sotheir twin eyes meet, and, for a moment, Anti fades into the cornersof the room.

“Youare the Sun,” says Marvin.

Chasepicks up the die.

“Iknow you can fight him,” he says. “I know that you can fight himoff.”

On the table, the Magician holds his weapon to the sky, one hand pointed to the Heavens and the other to the Earth, held somewhere between spirit and creation, somewhere between life and death, waiting.

I apologize in advance for how long this is gonna be but ive had muse for Jamie for like a week and i’m just so excited to play him with you guys! <3

Oh hey, it’s JAMIE FINCH-FLETCHLEY, the 5th year CISGENDER MALE GRYFFINDOR. I always thought HE looked just like the muggle, LEE SUNGJONG. I’ve heard they’re KIND + SINCERE, but also SHY + NAIVE. Hope they have a good year!

Justin Finch-Fletchley ended up marrying a muggle woman named Gemma. Gemma is a doctor, and Justin chose to be a stay at home dad when their first daughter was born.

They ended up having three daughters before Jamie came along, and Justin was excited to have some masculine energy in the house.

Boy was he in for a shock.

Jamie was more into cute “girly” things than any of his sisters had been, and he wanted his room painted pink as soon as he found out you could change wall colors when he was like 6.

Justin loves and accepts his son, of course, but sometimes Jamie can feel like he’s disappointed in him for not really enjoying any masculine activities.

Jamie, his sisters, and his mom didn’t even learn about magic until Jamie’s youngest older sister got her letter. Justin’s eldest two were muggles too, so the entire family had a bit of a freak out when they found out.

Jamie got his letter two years later, and he was super happy, since he could relate to his dad on another level... or any level really. Justin told Jamie about the Battle of Hogwarts and Harry Potter and all the stories. Justin did let it slip that he wished he was braver, and Jamie had those words play in his head on repeat until the sorting.

After he heard the sorting song, he knew what he wanted to be in. However, the hat barely touched his head when it started to yell “HUFFLE-”

but Jamie shouted “WAIT!” probably the loudest he’s ever been in his entire life to this day, and the hat stopped. He then whispered “Can I please be in Gryffindor? Please?” The hat was surprised, but corrected itself and sent little Jamie to the red and gold table. Jamie wanted to be brave for his dad, and he figured Gryffindor would be the place to get there.

Jamie is NOT a natural student. He’d barely passed almost all of his classes until he reached third year when he could take electives. He  always loved Astronomy, but it wasn’t until he started taking Divination that he knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life. He wants to be come the divination professor at Hogwarts, and he knows how close astronomy and divination are, so he loves both of them.

He’s into all aspects of divination and astrology. His most prized possession is his deck of baby pink tarot cards, and he’ll happily give you a reading if you ask him to.

he never really felt the need to come out of the closet, since he was never really in it to begin with? he never felt like he needed to bring up he was gay, since a lot of his interests and mannerisms always had people assuming so anyway.

until you REALLY get to know him, Jamie is SUPER soft spoken. And if he doesn't like you, he always speaks in a whisper as a defense mechanism.

he loves hugs and cuddles so much. Like if you’re his friend, you could be in the middle of a conversation and he’d be like “Okay, I want a hug!”

his favorite tv show is rupaul’s drag race, and he’s practiced his lip syncing talents since he was twelve.

Do not challenge him to a lip sync battle. The last person who did still hasnt recovered their pride. (possible wc??)

he loves singing and dancing, though he’ll only do either in front of people he’s super comfortable around, or in frog choir, though he’s never tried out for a solo

he listens to a lot of kpop, and learns tons of girl group dances. Those are basically his only form of exercise.

he’s tried a lot of hair colors over the years, but he really likes blonde, so he’s sticking with it for the foreseeable future (no matter what gifs i have of sungjong lol)

this boy has the metabolism of shaggy from Scooby Doo. He eats so much at meals people would be shocked he’s stayed so skinny.

they also help him hide his face whenever he blushes and doesn’t want to. He’ll pull the sweater up like in the above gif lol

you’d think with how well this boy dances he’d be more coordinated. Nope. Dont throw anything at him, it will hit him in the face. Don’t ask how. He also tends to trip when he gets nervous.

if youre a boy and youre nice to jamie, he WILL have a crush on you. It’s just how he is. It can be small, like just thinking youre cute, or it can be huge. And everything in between.

hi there! i want to ask what you do before your readings? any ritual? im starting to read to other people on tumblr and they always ask "what x feels for me" i answer all the asks and i do my best, but the feedback is always the same: not accurate. im starting to feel that tarot doesnt answer this kind of questions or my deck has 0% connection with other people because when i read for myself it is wonderful!! :( can u give me a light?

hello, honeyi do have some rituals that really help to connect with my cards.first, before any reading i prepare some kind of a special setup: two candles of choice. I prefer aroma ones,  from ikea. (my cards love them as well). Candles create a special atmosphere plus i feel cozy and warm with them. i also have a small bamboo place mat and i put cards only on this mat while readings. i choose a nice song or a melody that won’t distract. piano music or lo-fi. really anything that helps you to feel nice while reading.the last thing (regarding the setup) - a special place for the spirit of the cards. during my first ever reading i decided to prepare a cushion for the spirit to sit on while the reading session. i was like “oh you may sit here if you want to” coz you know it’s nice when people offer you a sit i guess. so yeah i always prepare a place for the spirit to chill while we read. you may also prepare a spare cup of tea or a cookie. the attitude matters a lot.

the next really important step - interaction with your cards. before reading i chat with my cards while shuffling them. tell about my day, thoughts and problems, plans. cards are not only a tool for me. they have a personality, feelings and thoughts and if you ask them for help - be nice. ask about their day, discuss something. this does really help. (i’ll make a post about my heartwarming experiences during such conversations next week or so) and when you start doing readings for people - read the request for the deck, discuss it a bit, say what you personally feel before pulling out any cards. make sure you connect with the deck. and trust it.that’s just a small part of all the things i would like to share regarding my process of reading. i’m planning on writing i post for those who might find it helpful and interesting. but this are like the main aspects. i hope this helps a bit, love. my advice for you - practice and never lose faith in yourself and your cards. do an interview - maybe your deck simply doesn’t enjoy love/relationship readings! Your name is [PSIIONIIC], or at least that's what you like to be called. Other types or naming are not on your suit. Regardless of this detour you seem to have found yourself out of your room for the first time in the last 3 days. How this was done makes no sense to anyone but you. You rush to the kitchen trying to get some damn sustenance, still on shorts and simple shirt. You might be a 200+ year old troll but you will be dammed if you are ever gonna dress like one. Now where is the milk. You enter the kitchen to scavenge for food.

Rose Lalonde: When he enters kitchen, someone else was sitting at the table quietly and looking at cards on it upright, thinking something. You [Rose Lalonde] had came to kitchen to drink some tea a few minutes earlier and brought your tarot deck along. However, your attention shifts from cards to new face you haven't seen yet. You look at Psiionic for a moment before smiling a little amused. "Seems like fate did bring something new today for me to face up. Literally."

Psiioniic: "Oh hey!" You are quick to say hello, no shame that she is gonna see you have cereal at ???? PM or AM huh.  Whatever. You serve your cereal and milk with your psionics while you speak. "Name is Psii, haven't seen your face before, are you news or came from a trip new?" You joke but its more common that one thinks. He is on that boat. Not that anyone needs to know that.

Rose Lalonde: You follow how he is using these telekinetic powers while also speaking. It's really amazing how some are able to actually use this kind of powers and are even born with these skills. "Nice to meet you Psii. I'm Rose and it's been only a short time since I returned from my business trip back to here" you tell him, while collecting cards from table back to deck to began shuffling it again. "You don't sound like a new member, but I haven't met you while I have been here. Have you also been on trip or doing something in the shadows?"

Psiioniic: "Long story short I was here a long time ago, then I left and then I came back but it wasn't no business trip. But lets leave it at that, Nice to meet you Rose." Cereal served, you bring the spoon with a small psionic burst and grab it mid air with your hand just so you can start eating. You look at the cards, you might have seen some of it in earth. Might. Big Might. Squint. Or not. You don't remember, your memory is awful. "What are those?" Nom nom nom. You sure love hyper illegal cereal boxes. Lucky charms weren't invented in the 20s. You go to her table and basically sit across of her, curiosity first. Those are pretty pictures.

Rose Lalonde: Ah, it's been a while since someone has asked that question. That makes you smile gently. "Tarot cards. With these people can foresee the future or seek answers for questions on mind. These are quite common at Earth but not that popular or know among the masses." Splitting a deck for four different sets and then shuffling them again to mix them really good, you watch Psii's eyes a little mysteriously. "I could use some practise so... Wanna try?~"

Psiioniic: You think for a bit, hand on your face, have you seen this? Yes, maybe but not up and close. You have never been one close to the mythical. "Sure." you reply happily, tone of voice picks up at the end of the word. And you continue to eat your cereal. "Read my future, give me all that future juice human troll Nostradamus"

Rose Lalonde: Okay, that actually made you chuckle a little more amused than you had expected from yourself. You make a mental note to ask later some things from Psii, but now you are focusing to your mission. "Very well then. I shall see what your future holds." With that you smoothly shuffle few more times your deck, before spreading cards very neatly on table. "To make sure this works, you need to choose three cards. One for the past, one for current time and then the future" you explain and hold your relaxed open hand towards the cards.

Psiioniic: That's where you smile big. "Do I?" You leave the bowl of cereal to the side and focus on the cards and then cover your eyes with one. "Lets go blind into the future." And that's how you pick three in order.

Rose Lalonde: One by one cards are chosen and you smile calmly while also guiding Psii how to set those cards on table right way. With that, they are ready go. "Excelent work. Now, let's begin with your past." The first card seems to be upright and after you flip it over, it's revealed to be a small carapacian in dark room with light source, surrounded by many cans. Your facial expression is now entirely focused on cards and smile gone, when you lightly touch your chin with your free hand's fingers. "Interesting choice of cards..."

Psiioniic: "Good or bad"you laugh a little bit but you are a tad worried. Looking at the card doesnt make it any easier. Hmmm. You are already hesitating. Your past is a mess you know that.

Rose Lalonde: You look a few more seconds this card, until you start speaking with no rush and articulate very clearly. "It depends, but on this case it tells me a tale about a man, who had inventor's spark and seeked for acceptance from his community. He believed for hard work and improvement. It is a window to the past where he had a lot hard time to be accepted and seen as an equal, maybe even an important part of his own community."

Psiioniic: "Old man consequences..." That is him. No doubt. If there is anyone to define your past... Its him. Oh Signless. Except a tad of you when you first  landed with the Crew. "Neato bonito. " CRONCH You are back to eat cereal. "Whats next?"

Rose Lalonde: "As you wish. Let's move on to your current situation" and with this you leave the card on it's place and hover your hand a little moment on the middle card which seems to be reversed. You wonder what card it might be. Well, only one way to find out the answer so you flip it over gently. This card also has two carapaces but there's also third person, who seems to be some other kind of alien with white and green clothes, standing between two black carapaces. You raise your gaze and watch Psii with thoughtful eyes. "Hmm... This card brings me a question. Is your work going alright currently?"

Psiioniic: You really don't like to think about your past and you are relieved when it moves into another topic. However that question makes you stop mid biting, which produces a very hard swallow. OUCH.  You are fine, you're fine. You take a second. "My work? hah, WELL I mean, a bit, my work for this organization hasn't started I'm still building the thing, I talked to Sollux and Deuce is all smooth I think. I havent gotten into a fight with nobody since Baron, haha." fuck Baron.

Rose Lalonde: Mental note, if Psii is trying to hide his nervousness he's having a hard time doing so. Also you maybe need to remember name Baron. It might be something to pop out in the future so just in case you also mentally note this detail. "It's okay. It takes time to adjust back, but this card is about facing up challenges, especially something that fits best to the one who picks up this specific card. It means you have already taken actions to proceed and you are in a good pace to accomplish your mission" you explain and for a moment you let your gaze slide back to this card from Psii's eyes. "Because it's upright, you have nothing to worry about too much right now, but if this had been reversed, it would been a sign of being stuck and having ideas or ambitious that just wouldn't work or spark your inner light to work things out."

Psiioniic: You don't look away. You aren't afraid of a bit of scrutiny. Your black and white eyes, almost pupiless meet hers. She is so young and so old. And yet, even then, way younger than you. You mentally decide that this means good fortune for your computer and your overseer set up.
